Peugeot automobiles have existed since the 18th century. This results in wonderful automobiles, although none are as modified and classical as the 3008. The Peugeot 3008 is the lightly facelifted second generation, and the French manufacturer has made a concerted effort to make its family SUV stand out.
The Peugeot 3008 is not immune to the current trend toward aggressive appearance. Adopting design cues from the 208 hatchbacks and 2008 SUV, including saber-toothed’ LED daytime running lights, a frameless front grille, and smoked LED taillights.
The 3008’s interior is very similar to the 5008’s, with an avant-garde dashboard reminiscent of concept vehicles from motor shows, delivering a strong message to rivals such as the Nissan Qashqai, Skoda Karoq, and Seat Ateca.
Peugeot 3008 Interior
Peugeot’s eccentric design is unmatched and is one of the company’s best-selling features. Fortunately, the modifications did not detract from the 3008’s sleek interior.
This is an outstanding interior for a variety of reasons, and mid-life has further enhanced it.
A stunning 21st-century dashboard with climate controls integrated into the slightly sluggish but now larger 10-inch touchscreen, but without a simple ‘back’ button to CarPlay, sat-nav, or radio once the temperature has been changed.
Rather than that, a cumbersome three-finger push brings you to the home screen. The factory-installed leather seats feature massaging capabilities, and the boot provides adequate storage space.
Styling
The 3008 is based on Peugeot’s large-car platform. This platform, dubbed ‘EMP2,’ also underpins the 5008 and 508 saloons, as well as larger Citroen, Vauxhall, and DS Automobiles models.
The platform enables Peugeot to offer completely independent suspension and four-wheel drive (via an electronic rear axle) in higher-end versions of the car; but, it precludes the possibility of a pure electric variant (move down a market segment and you can opt for an all-electric e2008 crossover hatchback, of course)
Peugeot 3008 Panoramic Roof
The roof features two big glass panels that span nearly the entire width of the roof and an automatic sliding blind that floods the cabin with natural light.
The panoramic glass top expands the interior of the automobile, while the strong natural light that pervades the cabin improves the occupant’s mood.
Outstanding Performance
The Peugeot 3008 is available in a range of performance levels to suit its clients. The Peugeot 3008 lineup includes two petrol engines, two diesel engines, and two plug-in hybrid engines with a range of varying power outputs.
The lineup begins with the 1.2-liter three-cylinder PureTech 130 petrol engine, which produces 129 horsepower and 230Nm of torque and is available with either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission. It’s an excellent pick, quiet at low rpm, and delicious as you accelerate.
When compared to the SEAT Ateca 1.0 TSI, the 3008’s more powerful engine gave a performance advantage. It accelerated from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 10.6 seconds. A tenth faster than the SEAT – while adding 30Nm of torque to 230Nm in total and weighing 30kg less.
The 3008 went from 50 to 70 mph in ten seconds flat in sixth – 3.1 seconds faster than the Ateca – and 1.4 seconds faster in fifth. In third and fourth, the gap narrowed to between 30 and 50 mph, but the Peugeot maintained its lead.
Although the six-speed manual’s shift action is not as mechanically exact as the SEAT’s. It is significantly tighter and more appealing in comparison to previous Peugeots.
Peugeot has announced the launch of two plug-in hybrid vehicles. Clearing the way for gasoline engines. In both the front-wheel-drive HYBRID 225 and all-wheel-drive HYBRID4 300, the 1.6-liter petrol engine produces 179bhp and is paired with a single electric motor in the 225 and dual electric motors in the 300.
Acceleration from zero to sixty miles per hour has been reduced to 8.9 and 6.1 seconds, respectively.
Peugeot 3008 Reliability & Safety
Modern automobile manufacturing processes enable a manufacturer or group of manufacturers to produce many models from a single platform. That is the mechanical skeleton that supports the bodywork.
The Peugeot 3008 is no exception since it shares numerous hidden components with the Citroen Grand C4 Picasso MPV. And the Peugeot 308 family hatchback.
Acquiring one of the 3008 means driving one of the safest cars ever made. As the car finished second out of 75 vehicles in the 2020 Driver Power customer satisfaction survey. The car rated highly in every category except reliability.
This excellent score reflects how satisfied 3008 owners are with the car’s ownership proposition. This is obviously quite encouraging if you’re considering purchasing one.
Excellent Handling
Even though it performs well and has excellent traction. The front tires have a tendency to understeer somewhat when the driver makes an abrupt direction change. Apart from that, when driven sensibly, the new 3008 delivers smooth acceleration and outstanding handling. It enables comfortable and effortless driving.
Therefore, whether you’re negotiating a perilous mountain road or out for an evening cruise, you can rely on its superior handling.
